Last Updated: July 2026

Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Countio may collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

Countio may collect the following types of information when you use the platform:

  • Account information — if you create an account, such as your email address.
  • Bookmarks — checklists and collections you've saved for quick access.
  • Preferences — layout choices, theme settings, and other personalisation options.
  • Usage and analytics information — data to understand how the platform is used and how visitors interact with it.
  • Technical information — data required to operate and secure the service, such as browser type and device information.

Countio does not sell your personal information.

Cookies & Local Storage

Countio uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies, including local storage, to:

  • Save your checklist progress and completion state locally on your device.
  • Remember your preferences, layout choices, and theme settings.
  • Authenticate your session if you're logged in.
  • Improve performance and load times.
  • Measure website usage and understand how visitors interact with the platform.

For guests, checklist progress, bookmarks, recently viewed items, and preferences may remain on the device. If you create an account and enable cloud synchronization, selected information is transmitted and stored so it can be accessed across devices.

Google Services

Countio may use the following Google services:

  • Google Analytics — to understand website traffic and usage patterns.
  • Google Search Console — to monitor search performance and indexing.
  • Google AdSense — to display advertising where applicable.

Google may use cookies to personalise advertising based on your interests, where applicable. You can manage personalisation settings through your Google account or browser.

Google AdSense & Advertising Cookies

Countio may use Google AdSense to display advertising if and when advertising is enabled. If advertising is enabled, advertisements provided by Google and its third-party advertising partners may be shown. These partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie), device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Third-party advertising vendors and Google's use of advertising cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to Countio and other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

For more information about how Google uses data when you use Countio, please review Google's Privacy & Terms — How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookie Consent & Your Choices (EEA, UK, and Swiss Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Countio will ask for your consent before placing non-essential cookies or similar technologies on your device, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the ePrivacy Directive.

If advertising is enabled, Countio will use a Google-certified Consent Management Platform where required to collect and manage consent. Once active, you may withdraw or change your consent at any time by reopening the consent settings available on the page.

Without your consent, Countio and its advertising partners (including Google) will not use cookies or similar technologies to personalise ads or collect analytics data that requires consent. Essential cookies necessary for the basic functionality of the website may still be used.
