Editorial Standards

Countio's editorial content — published through The Countio Chronicle — exists to help readers understand topics in greater depth and connect them with practical resources they can act on. The Chronicle complements the Countio Library's structured checklists by providing context, explanations, and guides that make complex subjects more approachable.

Chronicle topics are chosen based on relevance to the Countio Library, reader interest, seasonal relevance, and the practical value a topic offers. Topics may be inspired by common questions, major life events, recurring reader feedback, or gaps in publicly available guidance.

Countio does not chase trends for their own sake. Priority is given to topics where a clear, structured explanation can genuinely help someone prepare or make a decision.

Chronicle articles are expected to draw on publicly available information, established practices, and recognized authorities where applicable. Articles should link to or reference original sources when they cite specific data, quotations, or claims.

Where a topic relies on evolving information, articles should acknowledge that the landscape may change.

Before publication, articles pass editorial and/or automated checks for structure, completeness, internal consistency, and obvious errors. Human review is recorded and credited only when it occurs.

Countio does not claim that all content is professionally fact-checked. Readers are encouraged to verify time-sensitive or high-stakes information independently and to consult qualified professionals for advice that falls outside Countio's informational scope.

Countio uses AI-assisted tools to support drafting, organization, and editorial workflow. These tools may assist with structure, language, and research gathering.

Countio remains responsible for publication decisions and does not present AI-generated output as independently authoritative. Human review is identified only when it has occurred.

Countio is developing a structured editorial review process as the publication grows. Articles may be edited for clarity, accuracy, and consistency before publication. Countio does not currently maintain a standing editorial board, and not every article undergoes the same level of review.

Where a human reviewer has completed and recorded review of an article, that reviewer's name may appear on the article page as "Reviewed By." The absence of a reviewer byline means no human review has been recorded for that article — it does not reflect on the article's quality.

Countio covers topics that can be difficult or unfamiliar, including major life changes, health, finances, and end-of-life planning. On these subjects, Countio's content is informational and does not constitute professional advice.

Articles on sensitive topics should direct readers to qualified professionals, official resources, or appropriate support services. Countio aims to present this information with care, respect, and practical usefulness.

Readers may report errors or outdated information through the Contact page. Reports received through the Contact page are assessed, and corrections are made where warranted.

Material corrections may be noted on the article with a brief correction note. Articles may be updated as information changes.

The original publication date remains visible on the article. A separate updated date is shown when the article has been materially updated.

Countio does not currently maintain a public correction log.

Countio's editorial content is produced independently of any advertising. Editorial decisions — including topic selection, article content, and placement — are not influenced by advertising relationships.

Where advertising appears, it is clearly labeled and separated from editorial content. Advertising does not affect what articles are published or how they are presented.

Countio does not accept paid placement in editorial content. Articles, guides, and features are selected and written based on editorial relevance and reader value, not commercial relationships.

Where a potential conflict of interest exists, Countio will disclose it on the affected article. Countio does not endorse products or services within editorial content. Recommended resources that appear in the "Continue Your Planning" section are selected based on editorial relevance to the topic, not promotional agreements.

Every published Chronicle article displays a publication date reflecting when the article was first published. When an article has been materially updated, a separate updated date is shown.

These dates help readers understand the currency of the information and are never altered to make content appear newer than it is.
