The Myth of Natural Speed
The belief that learning speed is innate is damaging. It causes the slow learner to conclude they are incapable, and the conclusion becomes self-fulfilling. The reality is that learning speed is determined by the alignment between the learning method and the brain's natural acquisition processes.
Active Over Passive

The Role of Rest
The counterintuitive component is rest. The brain does not encode information during the learning session. It encodes it during the periods that follow — breaks between sessions, sleep, and intervals between reviews. Sleep is the most powerful learning tool available. The brain consolidates the day's learning during sleep, transferring it from short-term to long-term memory. Faster learning is not about studying more. It is about studying better.
